Rob Domico

Rob Has been teaching fly fishing since his college days back in 1985-1989.  He was the “shop kid” at the local fly shop connected to his college town and worked there part time. Rob cleaned out guide trucks, re rigged rods, packed coolers and pretty much did what the guide staff told him to do to help them get ready for their client trips the next day. Fast forward.  .  .Rob learned the craft of teaching and guiding from that experience and exposure to that guide group from way back in the day thus making him a true genuine home-grown fishing guide today. From the minute you first meet Rob to begin your day you and your group will immediately say to yourself, “This is a good guy, and this is gonna be a good day”. Rob has taught fishing professionally now for 24 years, and is aligned with SIMMS as part of their professional guide member program. He teaches everything that has to do with the use of a fly rod including trout tactics, smallmouth bass, inshore saltwater and great lakes steelhead. Ask around some pretty influential fly fishing guide circles not only in the Southeast, but also throughout parts of our country and his name will come up in highest regards as one of the best teachers of fly tackle tactics you will ever work with.

Richard Pickard

Some say that Richard was born into this world clutching a fly rod and reel. Some say that a fly box, rods and reels were his first toys as a child, and that he figured out how to catch fish in roadside mud holes where fish should not have been.  Then there are those of us who simply say.  .  .Richard is the best teacher we have ever known, and you are going to catch a lot of fish today with him under his watch. Originally from Roscoe, NY (The birthplace of fly tackle fishing in America), Richard grew up learning trout tactics on famous trout tribs like the W Branch of the Delaware, Willowemoc and Beaverkill rivers. Throughout his adult life Richard learned the tactics of chasing down steelhead in the great lakes region and spawning brown trout on the Little Red River in Arkansas. He also calls the South home and for all of these years has been teaching southern Appalachian Trout tactics in and around our local NC rivers. He is regarded as one of our very best resources in the guide world for breaking down the mechanics of how to really use the fly rod and get flies in front of trout. Richard has taught fishing professionally now for 28 years. Your day with Richard will be like a one week fishing school all compacted into your one day. He just loves to teach, and you will learn from one of the best when you fish with Richard.
